Wylie Defeats Liberty Hill

In what was supposed to be a very close game where the slot T of Liberty Hill would run wild over the field answered by the Wylie offense with some help from their defense. Instead the Wylie defense swarmed the Slot T and frequently put them down behind the line of offense. Even when Liberty Hill got loose, the defense answered with an interception and fumble recovery.Wylie led 21-6 at the half. The second half was not as happy for the Wylie fans as Liberty Hill came back to almost tie the game. Two unanswered touchdowns made the score 21 – 13 and then 21-19 and Liberty Hill lined up for a two point conversion. The defense answered again and the score was an uncomfortable 21-19.Wylie reached down into their bag of tricks and used the Hook and Lateral to pass to Jaxson Money who then lateraled to C. Johnston who finished off the 49 yard TD on third and 10. The point after was blocked and Liberty Hill raced to almost the Wylie 30 before being taken down.Halftime seemed to last and last. Both the Liberty Hill and Wylie bands put on their competition performances and both were excellent. Wylie’s salute to America was simply awesome to this veteran. Senior Kinsey Christian was crowned Homecoming Queen. Listening to the accomplishments of the five trying for the honor, made me wonder if and when these young women ever had time to sleep.
