At this moment an important election is taking place as some candidates are running for the position of Taylor County Court at Law Judge. The primary early voting will expire Tuesday March 2nd and Republican Party candidates are former KRBC Anchorman Downing Bolls, and Assistant District Attorney Tomme Curtis. Two other candidates who are running for Taylor County Court at Law #2 are former Assistant District Attorney Sam Carroll and Attorney Randy Crownover. Who is the best qualified for the position of judge in their categories?{{more}} On February 24, the Abilene Reporter-News printed an editorial written by a local citizen, John Cummings, who recommended Assistant District Attorney Sam Carroll informing the public that both of them are longtime friends. Cummings claims that Carroll, who is a good friend is the best candidate for the position of Taylor County Court of Law Judge #2. According to Cummings Carroll’s military background, legal expertise, and his past experience as a both an attorney and prosecutor make him a good candidate for the slot of County Court at Law No. 2 judge. Cummins uses his editorial to motivate voters to nominate Carroll for judge. Although, no campaign money has gone into the editorial through freedom of speech, Cummings cleverly uses it as a method to campaign for Carroll. It makes one wonder if other candidates are also getting help from friends’ publicity? Before reading the opinion page are all readers getting informed about the candidates It is important for voters to know how to vote without being impartial and one sided. Another interesting question might be. What exactly does it take to be a good judge? It is important to remember that everyday closed cases become open cases after wrong parties are prosecuted and innocent people served time. Where have all the good Americanized judges gone? Other important information should be taken into consideration when voting for the right candidate of judge. Voters should use good judgment when nominating the right candidate for the job of judge. Other questions make the category of who can best answer the questions. Is it fair to hear a child custody case with one parent lacking representation because of the lack of funding in the legal aide system? It is sad that children are being placed in homes with the wrong parents or guardians because money talks. The parent without the money for the attorney leaves the courtroom without the children after raising them for years nurturing them with a Christian upbringing and morals. The ex-spouse of abuse can just show up with a lawyer and win a case with here say information. Voters, think about it? It is the law that a judge appoints a lawyer to a party who has no representation. How can a system get away with placing children in the wrong home, and what kind of investigations are actively followed through to convict the real perpetrator who continually uses the system to avoid paying child support. Children are even placed in a Foster Care system where they do not belong because of injustice brought on by false accusations. It has been found after investigations have taken place that true evidence found children are even abused while in the system. It is a fact without further research that he list of injustices caused by courts with impartial hearings are responsible for a sad aftermath of shattered relationships and innocent people left to suffer and endure life without their loved ones. Recent investigations by Governor Rick Perry Found horrifying truth about the inconsistencies of Child Protective Services. If security can slip and allow a foreigner into the country carrying bombs in his clothing then just maybe more folks need to start getting serious about who is the right candidate for future positions in our country. Our country who was created for all, especially for those who seek good in all they do, and wish a good and happy life for others who deserve it. I urge voters to take into consideration getting informed before voting for any candidate, and even researching past court cases about them. As citizens we want to avoid overseeing loopholes and possible past mistakes that a candidate might have made while serving our community. It is only fair that we elect the right candidate that will be for the people, and not against. The goal of our country’s leaders should be to find a way to unify the family unit, and not destroy what God has created and bonded. We all have a right to live a happy life without the inconsistencies of others, let alone those unhappy campers that get a kick out of ruining innocent people’s lives.
