All that was lacking was the Soul Train dance floor to help the memories come more to life for a pleased audience that trademarked the night with their applause. The purple strobe lights glowed brightly on the sharp colored apparel of each performer that walked on stage to sing their favorite pop artists songs at The Spirit of Motown talent show that was held at the Abilene Civic Center last month. Some of the popular artists that were recorded by the Motown label and portrayed by the talented singers that night included: the Temptations, the Four Tops, Diana Ross and the Supremes, Smoky Robinson and the Miracles and Whitney Houston. One of the talented performers was a group of four young men who call themselves, LEGACy, who resembled and sang some of the Four Tops songs. The talent show was produced and choreographed by volunteers who work and meet with young people helping mold their talents at the J.V. Daniels recreation center. It was a night to remember as many other song lyrics were also visualized by the audience leaving a true legacy of the Motown record label in their mind for them to see.A group shot of the participants in the talent show.
