The Hispanic Mercado

The Hispanic Mercado

The Hispanic Mercado saw a large and continuous crowd of people seeking information about Hispanic owned and orientated businesses. All of the booths were energetic and friendly. Most could answer questions in English and Spanish. The giveaways were varied and mostly useful. This included the multitude of candy I could put in the provided bags and take home to give for Halloween. The entertainment was also varied and extremely good. By their second song, the Mariachi band had stopped most of the people present to come to where they could see the band and simply listen to the very talented group. {{more}}The Hispanic community has done an excellent job of serving both their cultural group and being a part of the Abilene business community. They are successful in being a part of the whole community while maintaining their own identity. They have not isolated themselves as Hispanic but brought the flavor of a culture to the community at large while being successful as business people.
