The 16th Annual Balloon Fest

The Optimist Club Unlimited of Abilene is the proud Sponsors of the 16th Annual Big Country Balloon Fest. Our organization is part of an International Optimist program. We provide local funds for Big Country Youth. This year the Boys Scouts will be celebrating their 100th Birthday with us at the festival. We will have a large number of food, arts and crafts vendors. Please look for our Balloon Fest programs next week at local grocery and convenience stores, these programs are free. Also, our festival schedule is, Sept. 24th Friday, 7am till 11pm. There will be designated areas for Mom and Tot day, Friday morning and Senior Citizens, Friday morning 7am for coffee and donuts. Saturday 7am the Balloons will fly again and all booths and activities will be open till 11pm.{{more}} Day Care field trips are welcome to schedule times to come out, Friday, Sept. 24th or Sat. Sept 25th The admission is free and opened to the public and there will be buses available to ride from the Mall parking lots. Multiple organizations will come out and “strut their stuff”, for free entertainment. Some of the nightly performances will be Happy Fat, Three Shades Blue, Allan Dawson Band, True Blend and many more. Both evenings at dark will be a balloon glow.
