Theodore Roosevelt will visit Buffalo Gap, Texas on October 4, 2014 as part of the annual Comanche Moon Social to benefit the Buffalo Gap Historic Village. In a one-person show, Joe Wiegand, the nation’s premiere reprisor of Theodore Roosevelt, will visit with guests, reminiscing with stories from his days in the Wild West to the halls of Washington, D.C.Wiegand has traveled the country, visiting all fifty states portraying the 26th President. To celebrate TR’s 150th birthday, Wiegand performed at the White House for President and Mrs. George W. Bush in 2008. Recently, the History Channel featured Wiegand on the television show, “The Men Who Built America.” This year’s Social will take place at the Perini Ranch in Buffalo Gap, Texas, featuring a special menu of authentic frontier cuisine prepared by world famous chef, author, and restaurateur Tom Perini. Other highlights to expect that evening include: live music by AKA Acoustic Duo, a silent auction with pieces personalized specifically for this historic event, and the greatly anticipated raffle drawdown between Terry Gilbreth bronze statues, a Henry Mare’s Leg rifle, and a genuine buffalo robe. Tickets to the Comanche Moon Social are $125 and limited to 400 highly coveted seats. Raffle and event tickets may be purchased by calling 572-3974.
