“Getting Personal With Your Taxes—Tax Tips and Considerations for Individuals” will be presented as a workshop at the Abilene Public Library the evening of Tuesday, December 10.Adelaide Odoteye, a Certified Public Accountant with Davis Kinard & Company in Abilene, will provide tips on how to minimize personal income taxes beginning at 6:30 p.m. in the Main Library’s second floor auditorium at 202 Cedar Street. Among the topics she will cover: personal and dependency exemptions, itemized deductions, new Medicare taxes, expiring provisions and tax rates. She will also cover how to take advantage of pre-tax dollars and tax deferred growth in programs such as individual retirement accounts and employer plans.{{more}} Ms. Odoteye has been in public accounting for six years as a manager with Davis Kinard. She holds a Master of Business Administration degree from Tarleton State University. She is a member of the Texas Society of Certified Public Accountants and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. In addition to individual income taxes, her expertise lies in taxation for corporations and partnerships and audits of school districts, non-profits and adult and juvenile probations.Following the presentation she will be available to answer specific questions of attendees.
