Scrapbooking @ your Library

By Anynmous

Demonstrating creativity while preserving your memories with pictures – And making friends in the process – these are some of the joys of scrapbooking for any age. “Scrapbooking Essentials”, a free workshop, will be presented at the Abilene Public Library, 202 Cedar St., on Tuesday, May 19 by Karla Morgan, owner of Scrapbooker’s Dream, 2807 S. 14th St. The workshop will run from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. in the library’s second floor auditorium. Each participant will create their own scrapbook page and in the process learn several basic techniques and elements that will help develop an individual style and their own creative flair. “Scrapbooking is a step by step process, not something that can be completed in an evening,” according to Morgan. “It’s an art to be enjoyed and working side by side with others makes it that much more fun.” A native of North Dakota, Morgan moved to Texas in 1989 and opened her business in November of 2007. She started her business simply out of a love for scrapbooking. No registration is required for the workshop. Materials will be provided at no charge by the presenter.
