Save the Date for the 55th Annual T.I.P. Sing Song!

By Gary Ellison, Associate Director University Relations - McMurry University

Next to McMurry’s unique homecoming experience, the longest-lasting tradition on campus is the T.I.P. Sing Song. First held in 1958, this year’s event will be the 55th anniversary of the student-produced song and dance revue. Sing Song 2013 will be held on Saturday, April 20th, at 7:30 p.m. in Radford Auditorium. The cost is $5 for adults and $1 for students with a valid college ID . This year’s theme will be “Teenage Heartthrobs”, and all musical selections will pay tribute to recent, and not so recent, teenage heartthrobs. Appealing to current college students will be the featured music of Justin Bieber. But not to exclude the 30-somethings and the 50-somethings in attendance, homage will also be paid to the Backstreet Boys and the Beach Boys. {{more}} Though musical talent is not a prerequisite for participating in Sing Song, organizations have spent countless hours memorizing lyrics and rehearsing choreography. In addition, the women of T.I.P. have worked tirelessly behind the scenes, designing sets and costumes and rehearsing their own musical numbers to insure an entertaining evening for all in attendance. Make plans now to attend Sing Song on April 20th for a fun-filled night of musical entertainment featuring the varied talents of McMurry’s students.
