The TexasPublishers Association believes that Paul Sadler, is best qualified to be our next U. S. Senator. Sadler is the Democraticnominee who has served in the Texas House of Representatives from 1991 – 2003. Heleft the position to care for his son who had been hurt in a serious autoaccident. He is the only candidate in the race who has had previous legislativeexperience. As a result, he can hit theground running. Sadler supports the Dream Act, would fight to save Medicare, wouldsupports the President’s plan to have a fair tax system designed to make sure that huge corporations and thesuper wealthy pay their fair share. Heis in favor of continuing health care reform while making changes, improvementsand corrections. {{more}} Sadler, a Henderson, Texas resident, is making a special effort to reachout to the traditional voters of the Democratic Party as well as Independents.He knows that this is the only way to win over the heavily funded Republicancandidate in the race. While serving in the Texas House of Representatives, Sadler receivednumerous awards for his legislative work. A decade ago, Sadler was a force in Texas politics. As the chairof the House Public Education Committee, he had tried to fix school financewhen it was only a crisis and not a disaster. He stepped down in 2002, and hassince practiced law and kept a low profile. Now he’s back, running for the U.S.Senate seat vacated by retiring Republican Kay Bailey Hutchison. Sadler offersthe best chance of having an effective U. S. Senator in Washington who can helpeliminate the gridlock in Washington. With very little help from the Texas Democratic Party and the NationalDemocratic Committee, Sadler knows that this race will be an uphill fight. But,he believes that it is one worth fighting.
