The New KLGD will provide a mix of music carefully selected by our program director to offer a blend of both familiar classics as well as many of today’s newer country tunes. But make no mistake about it. This is a station devoted to nostalgia that quite literally spotlights “The Legends of Country,” said KLGD’s President and General Manager, Jim Vance. The mix of music spans several generations, including hits from the 70’s from the likes of Glen Campbell, Lynn Anderson and Johnny Cash; timeless stars, including Roger Miller, Don Gibson and Lee Greenwood; and “Classic Country and Western” including Roy Rogers, Gene Autry, Tex Ritter and Bob Wills.{{more}} You’ll also hear tried-and-true country stars still making music today, like Randy Travis, George Strait and Alan Jackson. Additionally, The Legends of Country will also sprinkle in a little Gospel; some Bluegrass; specialty shows that, of course, focus on the greatest country music of all time; and will also be your home for “Tradio,” every Saturday morning from 8:00 – 9:00 AM. Another legend of the airwaves, broadcasting locally again on KLGD, will be Station Operations Manager Pete Garcia. “Afternoons with Pete” will be on the air Monday through Friday, from 3:00 to 7:00 PM starting Monday, May 2nd. Vance Communications is the operator of KLGD 106.9 FM in the Abilene market. For more information, please contact Jim Vance, President and General Manager ; or Pete Garcia, Director of Programming, .
