New Deputy District Director Joins the SBA Lubbock District Office

LUBBOCK, Texas – – TheU. S. Small Business Administration Lubbock District Office welcomes Mr.Reynald R. Lops as the Deputy District Director. He will assist District Director Calvin Davisin managing in the delivery of the SBA programs and services throughout 71counties of Northwest Texas which include access to capital, counseling, businessdevelopment and government contracting opportunities. Lubbock District Director Calvin Davis states: “We are veryfortunate to have found such a qualified professional to fill the newlyestablished position of Deputy District Director in this office. Mr. Lops’ vast range of experience andknowledge in management, government contracting, regulatory compliance, logisticsand strategic planning, serves as an invaluable asset to SBA and our partnersand customers.” {{more}} Lops brings more than 33 years of experience from the Departmentof Defense – United States Air Force as both an Air Force Officer with28 years of service and as a Department of the Air Force civilian employee of almostfive years. He retired from the USAF inOctober 2007 as the Chief of Staff for the 27th Fighter Wing atCannon Air Force Base in Clovis, New Mexico earning the rank of LieutenantColonel. He also served simultaneously for nearly two years as the InspectorGeneral of the 27th Fighter Wing during his tenure as the Chief ofStaff at Cannon. As an active duty officer, Lt. Colonel Lops served for four yearsas the Deputy Commander for Logistics, Sixteenth Air Force, at the Aviano AirBase in Aviano, Italy wherein he earned top commendations for his outstanding leadership. Most recently, as a civilian, Lops served as the Director ofManagement Operations for the 498th Nuclear Systems Wing at KirtlandAir Force Base in Albuquerque, New Mexico.In this capacity, he led the day-to-day management of key wing staffagencies and programs which included base authority over administration,finance, information assurance, information technology, personnel, plans and programs,safety, self-inspections, and security management. He earned distinction by receiving thehighest civilian medal a wing commander may award. Lops holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology and SocialWork from Manhattan College in Manhattan, New York and a Masters of Arts degreein Counseling and Guidance from the University of North Dakota, in Grand Forks,ND. He has served as an Air Force instructorat Manhattan College , New York Institute of Technology , PolytechnicInstitute of New York University , Academy of Aeronautics and inmultiple disciplines as a US Air Force instructor.
