WASHINGTON, DC- Today, May 21st, 2009 Congressman Randy Neugebauer and his colleague Rep. David Scott , introduced H.R. 2554, the National Association of Registered Agents & Brokers Reform Act . This straight-forward legislation will reform the current system of insurance agent licensing to streamline licensing for insurance agents and brokers who do business in more than one state. {{more}}“I am glad to join with my colleague Rep. David Scott in introducing bipartisan legislation that helps support small businesses. “Many insurance agents have customers in more than one state, and this legislation will make it easier for them to be licensed and do business in more than their home state. Having the option of NARAB membership and one-stop non-resident licensing will cut down on extra paperwork and time it now takes to obtain multiple licenses. “For too long, we have needed to start down the road to reforming the licensing process and providing higher and more consistent consumer protections. This legislation will accomplish state-based reform and streamline the process, leading to greater consumer choice.”
