Neecee’s Barber School

Neecee’s Barber School

The state of the art 72 Station Barber College is an outstanding addition to the city of Abilene. It is the only Barber College between Dallas and Lubbock. It is a blessing to have a School of this caliber located in our city. It gives the citizens of the Big Country one more opportunity when it comes to furthering their education. Mrs. Joyce Ayers, Co-Owner of the school, said that it takes 10 months to complete barber school. The School is owned by Mrs. Joyce Ayers and her husband Gregory. They own Neecee’s School of Cosmetology as well. In addition to Mrs.Ayers there are two other instructors Mr. Gerald Wilkerson owner of Wilkerson’s Barber Shop and Mr. Cedric Brooks owner of So-Faded Barbershop. {{more}} On May 5th Neecee’s Barber School is having an open house from 6 pm to 8 pm. This is a great opportunity to look the school over. They will be offering $5.00 haircuts and $7.00 hot shaves. If you come to the open house I can guarantee you two things 1) when you leave you will have another reason to brag about Abilene and what it has to offer. 2) If you get a haircut and shave you’ll leave feeling better about yourself.Marcevie  Ralston said  “I always wanted to go to barber school. It’s a good way to provide for my family. After finishing school I would like to work for 4-5 years with someone and then open my own shop.  Attending   Neeece’s  Barber  School  is being part of history it is the first one in Abilene.”.Keith Brown, said “I have  a lot of people in my family that are barbers. There’s always a need for a barber, it will never die. You can go anywhere in the world, even to China.” He plans to own his own shop and become an instructor, maybe even own a Barber School college one day. Great opportunity.oto by Floyd Miller
