Mrs. Mallon celebrates 90th Birthday
By Floyd Miller
Mrs. Maurine Mallon was surrounded by her children, grandchildren and a host of friends as she celebrated her 90th Birthday. The reception was held in one of the fellowship halls of First United Methodist Church. The reception area was very tasteful decorated and the Chef at First United Methodist prepared a variety of delicious snacks.Mrs. Mallon had pictures that told the story of her family, in fact she had a picture of her parents wedding day which was 1915. The picture has been well preserved looks very good it’s only 99 years old.Mrs. Mallon had many wonderful stories to share concerning her life. Mrs. Mallon was a stay at home mom until her husband died suddenly. After that the World Book Corporation gave her an opportunity to sell for them. She had a very successful career selling World Book Encyclopedias. We wish Mrs. Mallon many more birthdays.
