Miller Speaks at Black History Program

The Bethel Baptist Church in Breckenridge selected Floyd Miller as their speaker for Black History Month. Miller, co-owner of the West Texas Tribune and a financial advisor in the Abilene area, spoke about “The Golden Jubilee of the Civil Right Act.” Miller was a teenager during this time period. He focused on the critical roles that Presidents John F. Kennedy and Lyndon Banis Johnson, as well as Dr. Martin Luther King, played in getting the Civil Rights Act of 1964 passed. A group of young students recognized the contribution that African Americans have made to the country. Tom Cyprian was recognized for this outstanding work in the Breckenridge area.
