McMurry University Art Student Candice White

ABILENE, Texas – McMurry University art student Candice White presents her senior exhibition, “Nature”, in the Gypsy Ted Fine Art Gallery at McMurry University. The show opens April 28th and will be on display through May 11th, 2008. The artist will discuss her work at 6 p.m. during the reception on Saturday May 10th. The Gallery, located at 2117 Hunt Street on the Southeastern edge of McMurry University campus, is free and open to the public by arrangement. For more information about hours of operation, please contact gallery director, Candice White, at 260-4244.Candice works as an acrylic painter and ceramic sculptor who has turned her focus to the classical still life. The unifying element of her exhibition is Nature, using flowers, shells, bamboo and the like as primary subjects throughout. She has exhibited her artwork in 11 shows during the four years that she has been attending McMurry. Her work has been featured in the 10th Annual Stars of Texas Juried Exhibition in Brownwood TX, in McMurry University’s Student Painting Show in the McMurry Welcome Center, and she also recently received honors in the McMurry Student Competition last month.Candice currently works as the Gallery Assistant for the Ryan Fine Arts Gallery, as well as the new Welcome Center Gallery at McMurry University. She also directs the student-run “Gypsy Ted Art Gallery”.
