“Keeping Your Trees Healthy
“Keeping Your Trees Healthy” will be the topic of a presentation at the Abilene Public Library the evening of Tuesday, September 9. The free program is open to the public, and will begin at 6:30 p.m. in the Main Library’s second floor auditorium at 202 Cedar.Bruce Kreitler, owner of Broken Willow Tree Service in Abilene will focus on diseases of trees in our area: how to prevent, how to identify and how they affect trees. “It’s not always easy to identify diseases in trees,” according to Kreitler; “and often they may develop more than one disease.” He will explain how to treat the problem and save the tree. Kreitler, who also has a radio show and writes newspaper columns on the subject of trees, is a board certified Master Arborist, a consulting arborist and a Certified Texas Master Naturalist. He is certified by the Texas Forest Service to deal with oak wilt and licensed by the Texas Department of Agriculture. For more information on this, and other library programs, call 676-6025 or check our online calendar of events at www.abilenetx.com/apl.
