[[more]]Ms. Nobles has performed in a leading role with Austin Opera. She also performed with the Amarillo Opera. She has had a successful professional singing career, having sung in concert as well as with symphony orchestras and opera companies in Europe and various places around the world. ” Ms. Nobles l performed one operatic aria and a number of Spirituals from her CD, “Homage to the Journey”. According to Kirk Nobles, “Music has been my lifelong companion. “ He began playing the trumpet at an early age and Sundays were spent playing gospel music alongside his mother, the church pianist. It was there, that he developed his improvisational skills and learned how to put some “grease” in his music. After college, Nobles began a career in advertising and marketing. Nobles stated, “That is my main gig, but music continues to be the constant in my life.” Kirk Nobles could be heard in many of the music venues in Austin, prior to his move to Pittsburgh, PA. While in the “Steel City” he jammed with the legendary drummer Roger Humphries and Lincoln Center Jazz Orchestra lead trumpeter Sean Jones. Now a resident of Flower Mound, Texas, Nobles has traded most of his gigging time with being a husband and dad to his beautiful wife NaGuanda and two wonderful children. Even still, he finds time to keep his “chops up” at local jam sessions. Kirk prides himself on being able to play all genres of music, including gospel, blues, soul and funk. As in jazz, he likes to improvise in life and in the words of his musical idol, Quincy Jones, “work on his craft and leave a little room for magic”. In addition to the professional guest artist, singers from three churches made up the Lift Every Voice Gospel Choir. The churches represented were Greater Zion and Mt. Rose Baptist Churches, from Sweetwater, and New Mt. Zion from Colorado City. The Choir was directed by Mr. Robert Williams. Cris Brenham of Dallas did an outstanding job playing the piano and Bill Tinsley was amazing on the drums.Mrs. Mila Gibson APPLAUSE Director made sure everything was done in a very professional manner.LIFT EVERY VOICE Event Sponsors were Robert and Jimmie Bender.
