Health District expands Women’s Health Services at no cost to patients

ABILENE, Texas – The Abilene-Taylor County Public Health District is now offering Expanded Primary Health Care Services for Women at the Sears Clinic location, 2250 Ambler Avenue. EPHC delivers comprehensive health care services to women that qualify for the program at no cost.Services offered include family planning, birth control methods, diagnosis and treatment of chronic care conditions, breast and cervical cancer screening, annual exams, pap smears, HIV testing, STD testing, and other blood tests. Abortion services will not be offered. {{more}}To qualify for the program, the patient must be a female, at least 18 years of age, and a Texas resident. The patient must also qualify financially by being in need based on a gross family income at or below 200% of the current Federal Poverty Level guidelines. The patient must also be ineligible for any other programs or benefits that provide the same services, including Medicaid, Medicare, and private health insurance.Patients can call 325-676-6634 or visit the Sears Clinic at 2250 Ambler Avenue and speak with an eligibility clerk to see if they qualify for the program. Bilingual staff is available.
