GV Daniels Center hosts College Scholarship Education

The GV Daniels Center hosted a day to show Abilene area juniors and seniors how apply for scholarships and loans for college. They also provided computer time and assistance in filling out the FAFSA forms which is required by many schools when applying.The local universities{{more}} were all represented while Prairie View A&M had both a booth representative, Mr. DeRodrick Johnkin, class of 2001 and visiting alum, Mr. Carl Lockett of Abilene who was proud to promote his old school. Both told me of the five Abilene students they had signed to attend a summer intern/access program that makes the student eligible for a $6250 grant for tuition and housing.The event was sponsored by ICAN and organized for them by Mr. Otis Dalton assisted by Ms. Laura Herridge who is a graduate student at ACU.
