For all have sinned and fall shortof the glory of God, Romans 3:23. That would be you and I yes we are allincluded in that group. If you don’t feel like you are inthe above group perhaps you will find yourself in this one. If weclaim to be without sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us.1John1:8. These are very powerful scriptures about sin. I think most of ustry to justify our actions so that we don’t have to label them sin. We have comeup with different names and excuses to put on things. For example saying aperson had an affair sounds better than saying someone cheated on their spouseor didn’t keep their marriage vows In the business world you might say someonecommitted a white collar crime. Why don’t we just say they stole money from thecompany or whatever the case maybe. If it’s white collar does that somehow makeevil good? {{more}}In the political world wehear this phrase I committed an indiscretion, this could be anything, from lying, stealing an affair or all of the above.I am not mocking anyone that may have committed one of these sins orsome that’s not mention. I’m only pointing out how difficult it is to admitsin. However God is faithful and will forgive us if we acknowledge our sin andrepent. The mediahas made a big deal about President Obama’s statement that he supports same sexmarriage. The President has joined the LBGT community, and otherswho see nothing wrong with same sex marriages. PresidentObama’s opinion gives us an opportunity to not only address the sin ofHomosexuality but sin in general. I think the real news here is that the Presidentgave an opinion on a matter that God settled many years ago. His opinion is indirect oppision to what God said. Guesswhose opinion holds up in “THE SUPREME COURT’. I must saythat I do not agree with the President’s stance on this matter. I disagree with him but I am not a hater of thePresident. In other words at the sound of his name my blood does not boil, theveins do not pop out in my head, I do not shout show me one good thing he hasdone, and I do not turn the color of an apple at the mention of his name. I think thebest way to address the President’s statement is to compare it to the word ofGod. The first sets of scriptures are from the book of Corinthians. As you readthese verses you will note that Paul mentions several behaviors that will keepone out of the kingdom of God. If any ofus find ourselves in one of the sins mentioned or any other sin we should repent. 9Do you not know that the wicked will notinherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: Neither the sexually immoralnor idolaters nor adulterers nor male prostitutes nor homosexual offenders 10nor thieves nor the greedy nor drunkardsnor slanderers nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God. 1 Corinthians 6:9-10. As youcan see from these verses Homosexuality is a sin like several other thingsmentioned in I Cor. 6; 9-10. If we find ourselves over taken by any sin we needto repent in other words change our ways. We all have the ability to change infact Paul has these words of hope in the next verse. ” 11 And that is what someof you were. But you were washed, you weresanctified, you were justified in the name of theLord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God. It is a fact that everything mentioned in I Cor.6 9-10 is a sin. The choice we have to make is do we want to follow God or man. It is the same dilemma that Peter and John faced in Acts chapter 4. The question the rulers were asking what are we going to do with these men that are following Jesus instead of us. 16″Whatare we going to do with these men?” they asked. “Everybody living in Jerusalemknows they have done an outstanding miracle, and we cannot deny it. 17But to stop this thing from spreading anyfurther among the people, we must warn these men to speak no longer to anyonein this name.” 18Thenthey called them in again and commanded them not to speak or teach at all inthe name of Jesus. 19ButPeter and John replied, “Judge for yourselves whether it is right in God’ssight to obey you rather than God. 20For we cannot help speaking about what wehave seen and heard.” Acts 4:16-20. Many times we hear the phrase God made me that way. I don’tthink society would accept that excuse from the swindler, the thief or thechild pedophile .If Hitler or Bin Laden said that God made them wicked I doubt if we would agree with them. Again Paul said” do not bedeceived.” This is how God answers the phrase that he made me that way. 12 aBlessed is the man that bendureth temptation: for when he is ctried, he shall receive the dcrown of life, which the Lord hath promised to them that lovehim. 13 Let no man say when he istempted, I am tempted of God: for God cannot be atempted with bevil, neither tempteth he any man: 14 But every man is atempted, when he is drawn away of his own blust, and enticed. 15 Thenwhen lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth asin: and sin, when it is finished, bringeth forth death. 16 Do not err, my beloved brethren.James 1:12-16. Asit has been pointed out from scripture we all have sinned. We all need God’s Grace and Mercy. I believe we have toadmit our sin whatever that might be in order to make improvements. If you area sinner no matter what type I invite you to join me at church. We can thensing together one of my favorite songs. “Jesus Is Lord ” It is this verse thattouches my heart every time I sing it. He still loves me, Me the sinner. What asorrow If I lost Him. But He owns me, Me the sinner. Praise our Jesus. Alleluia. Enoughsaid, God settled it a long time ago.
