By Rescue the Animals/SPCAOur Campaign for Better Lives for All Pets…This fall we are launching a massive effort toVaccinate and fix every possible pet in the BigCountry at prices everyone can afford. Onlyabout 20% of animals in Abilene are vaccinatedfor rabies, and way too many are not fixed. Costi s a major factor in both problems with yearlyvaccination visits to local vets running from $75to well over $100.We are doing low-cost vaccinationsevery Wednesday from 1pm to 3pm for just$24.99. We are cutting spay/neuter prices thisfall with cats starting at $30 and dogs starting at$40.Kennel Campaign Nears Goal…$11,214.00 Needed….Our campaign to build more indoor/outdoorkennel s at the Abilene Animal Shelter is sabout two-thi rds of the way to our $33,300 goalthanks to our Dachshund Race sponsors andother donors. This project will double thenumber of outdoor runs at the pound from 28 to56!Without our support, half the kennel s inthe wing would have been built as 3’x3’ indoorkennel s. The many large dogs going to the poundneed more space than this. Adoptions at theAbilene Animal Shelter continue to increase andmany of the animal s are being held for two weeksor longer. We still need your help to complete this vitalproject!
