DaCipher 360° – Unity and Focus

By Marilyn Miller, M.Ed. Executive Director Da’Cipher 360°

For those of you who have children, you have loved them from day one. You have wanted the best for them. You have watched them grow, play and enjoy life. You have tried to protect them from accidents, health hazards and life in general. We have seen some alarming activity in this country as of late. There seems to be a blatant disregard for life. There have been murders on earth since Cain killed Able. But now, in this time of enlightenment when we are making efforts to bring our country together and protect and preserve our homeland, we need to recognize each other as human beings. We need to protect human life as we protect our own. Have we forgotten the golden rule which states, “Do unto others as you would have them do unto you?” {{more}} Before anyone decides to take a life, it is good to remember that God made that life and only He can create another life. If we don’t stop and look around, we can be on our way to becoming a nation marching toward self destruction. It is up to adults to lead the way by example to becoming a peaceful nation with in. Start by treating all children respectfully, the way you want your children to be treated by others adults. Otherwise, the disrespect will work its way down the line until we are destroyed, as a nation, by our own hands. We need adults to come together and work toward a solution to the unrest in this country and the future of Abilene, Texas and out nation. “We must learn to live together as brothers or perish together as fools.” – Dr. Martin Luther King.
