City offers free after-school program

ABILENE, Texas – The City of Abilene Recreation Division is providing a free after-school program for City of Abilene residents beginning on Monday, August 25. The program will be held at Rose Park Recreation Center, Cobb Recreation Center, Sears Recreation Center and G.V. Daniels Recreation Center. The after-school program is free and open to children ages 6 to 13. Program hours are Monday through Friday from 3 to 6 p.m. To register your child, please visit the Recreation Center of your choice or the Community Services Office, located at 633 Walnut Street. Parents may enroll their child at any time. Transportation will not be provided by the Abilene Recreation Division; however some AISD school sites do offer transportation to the Recreation Centers. Staff will be available to assist with homework, plan organized gym games, lead arts and crafts projects, schedule field trips, and more. For more information, please visit or call 325-676-6217.
