Animal Services hosts Volunteer Orientation

ABILENE, Texas – Abilene Animal Services is hosting a Volunteer Orientation at the Main Abilene Public Library, 202 Cedar St., Nov. 6, 2014, at 6:30 p.m. The orientation will provide information for anyone interested in volunteering at the Abilene Animal Shelter. Information about the shelter, shelter events, individual animals, policies and procedures will be covered at the orientation and provided to attendees in the Volunteer Handbook. This orientation is open to anyone interested in volunteering. The Animal Services Volunteer program features several volunteer positions and opportunities for individuals and groups. Volunteer opportunities include adoption assistance, dog walking, cat enrichment, pet grooming, and community education. Volunteers are also needed for off-site special events.
