AHS Eagles defeat Plant HS

By Joe Starkey

In the space of three weeks, the Abilene High Eagles took on three of the top ranked football teams in Florida. They beat two of them and gave the other something to remember when thinking of coming back to Texas. The Plant game was supposed to be a contest between their All American running back and Division I Select quarterback and AHS All American Running Back Herschel Sims. However, the Eagles showed why they took State last year and are strong contenders this year by winning the game on swarming defense and outstanding running by quarterback Ronnel Sims. It was a game that most got there early and almost nobody went home until after the final gun.For more pictures from the AHS vs. Plant football game see PICTURE STORIES AROUND ABILENE.
