ACU signs four National Merit Finalists from Abilene

Four Abilene seniors signed contracts accepting full-tuition scholarships to Abilene Christian University during a signing ceremony on March 8th at the Hilton Room in the McGlothlin Campus Center , ACU Campus. This ceremony was not for Athletics but for Academics as all were National Merit Finalists. ACU hopes to have another fourteen Merit Finalists join them in the 2007 Freshman class.Signing were:David McMichael, son of Drs. B.J. and Dana McMichael Sara Morris, daughter of Ric and Michelle Morris Emily Rankin, daughter of Drs. Bill and Sherry Rankin Melanie Faye Wheeler, daughter of John and Shawn Wheeler This was the second annual signing of Merit Finalists for ACU and is designed to emphasize the importance of academic achievement. Last fall, ACU enrolled 13 new National Merit Finalists. Approximately 8,200 National Merit Finalist Scholarships will be awarded to incoming freshman nationwide this year.
