ACU names new alumni director
Larry Musick, ACU alumni and senior director of marketing at Lipscomb University, will become Abilene Christian’s new director of Alumni Relations, effective March 2, 2009. “We are excited to have Larry to lead our alumni relations program,” said Dr. John Tyson, vice president for development. “He brings a wealth of experience and a natural ability to relate well with many people. He will be a valuable resource as we continue to serve our alumni around the world.” Musick has worked to build and promote Lipscomb University’s “A New Day” brand since 2006, overseeing the creation and deployment of marketing messages and products. Prior to his time at Lipscomb, Musick worked with two Fortune 500 companies in Nashville: Dale Supply Company and Manpower. Musick graduated from ACU in 1984 with a bachelor’s degree in communication. He is currently working towards his master’s degree in conflict management from Lipscomb University. During his time as an ACU student, Musick was involved in Sing Song, homecoming, the Big Purple and other student activities. He also volunteered and worked in the Alumni Relations office for two years. Musick and his wife, Kathy , have two children: Ashley, a junior social work major at ACU, and Jeff, a high school senior.
