Abilene receives Texas Meetings + Events “Best Of” Awards

SAN ANTONIO, Texas – Texas Meetings + Events Magazine held their 4th annual Readers’ Choice “Best Of” Awards in San Antonio on Monday night and Abilene cannot be more pleased with the results. The magazine’s readers – meeting planners, suppliers, vendors and event planners –cast their votes to honor those who continually go above and beyond in the industry. Once Texas Meetings + Events staff tallied the votes, the winners were kept secret until the big announcement at the Henry B. Gonzales Convention Center. The winners were also featured in a special fall issue of the magazine. {{more}}The state is divided up into regions; Abilene lies in the Panhandle Plains. Amongst the region, the Abilene Convention and Visitors Bureau received the award for the Best Destination Marketing Organization. Several local partners also received “Best Of” awards that night:Meeting/Event Venue, Hotel or Resort , Abilene Civic Center; Meeting/Event Venue, Hotel or Resort , Hilton Garden Inn – Abilene; Catering Company, Cypress Street Station; Golf Venue, Diamondback Golf Club; and Meeting/Event Planning Company, The Arrangement. “Revealing our 2011 Readers’ Choice ‘Best Of’ Award winners is the most exciting moment of our editorial year,” representatives from Texas Meetings + Events stated. Congratulations to all! Winners from the Panhandle Plains region were also featured in a special fall issue of the magazine.
