Clack St. Abilene, TX 79605{{more}}Backporch Productions is pleased to introduce the new addition of the “Singer/Songwriter Showcase” to Outlaws and Legends Music Fest with the first showcase being held tomorrow, January 10th live at the Lucky Mule Saloon. Backporch Productions received 24 entrees from artists and bands throughout Texas and beyond state lines. The concept of the Singer/Songwriter Showcase is to give artists and bands the ability to compete for the 1st spot in the Outlaws and Legends Music Fest line-up from the Big Country Chevy Stageon March 3, 2012, a recording session at Big Note Studio, VIP passes to the event and massive media exposure.Today’s first showcase will host 9 artists/bands to perform in front of 4 music industry judges. Each band is allowed 3 original songs and the winner will be chosen according to total points which includes: Originality, Musicianship, Vocal Quality, and Crowd Reaction. These showcases are open to the public, and people are encouraged to attend and help support these artists. The Lucky Mule is offering FREE admission for persons 21 and up between the hours of 7:00p.m. and 9:00p.m., $3.00 admission for persons 21 and up after 9:00p.m. and $5.00 admission for persons under 21 years of age.Artists and bands entered into the competition include: 52 Week Hi, Davis Lane, Jim Yoss, F.N. Sayre Jr., Callahan Divide Band, Rodney Alexander, Josh Greer, Texas MulehouseRatz, Three Shades Blue, Scotty Thurman and The Perfect Trouble Band, The Swindlers, One Last Drive, Jackie Johnson, The 318’s, The Remains, Donald James, Rod Ballou, Beau Taylor, Jaron Bell, Buck Nelson Band, Ranch Hand Band, Jody Booth, Ashley Vinson and Tanner & Adam.Backporch Productions believes the addition of the Singer/Songwriter Showcase will help add a unique component by including bands on the rise that seek an earned spot on a large and prestigious stage. The 2nd Annual Outlaws and Legends Music Fest, presented by Area Wide Phonebooks and Bill Reed Distributing, is less than 60 days away and expecting an even bigger turnout than last year’s, which included 6,084 attendees and $31,810 funds raised for Disability Resources, Inc. Ticket locations are now up and running, and Big Country residents are encouraged to go to: Kent’s Harley Davidson , Image Sculptures , First National Bank of Baird locations , N-Tune Music , or Erath Iron and Metal . Tickets on sale for only $30 or $25 with a college and military ID, and good for all weekend of music.
